Christopher M. Scheer
Christopher M. Scheer (B.M.) is the associate professor of musicology at Utah State University in Logan, UT. He is a scholar of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British musical culture as well as the intersection of esotericism and music. His research has been supported by the Leverhulme Foundation including an Early Career Fellowship and a Networking grant for “Enchanted Modernities: Theosophy and the Arts, 1875-1960.” He co-edited and contributed to Enchanted Modernities: Mysticism, Landscape, and the American West, and The Sea and the British Imagination. Currently, Scheer is working to complete a new life and works monograph on Gustav Holst for Oxford University Press in time for the Holst anniversary year in 2024. He is also a visiting curator at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art overseeing their Museum + Music series, and vice president of the North American British Music Studies Association.
